Tous les Jours
A solid Korean-French bakery chain with locations in four Orange County cities
Originating in South Korea – with surprising corporate family ties to Samsung – Tous les Jours is a Korean-French bakery chain with four locations throughout Orange County: two are inside relatively new Irvine H Mart supermarkets, and the other two in Fullerton and Garden Grove plazas.
Combining French techniques with Korean (and broader Asian) influences, Tous les Jours got our attention through several different offerings. Most obvious from its prominent display cases are its cakes, which often focus on fruit and/or cream – a lot of cream. It also sells ultra-soft, delicious Pullman loaf-style bread in nice flavors including a bright purple sweet potato, whole milk, and raisin. Then, there are its assortments of cookies, pastries, and drinks.
Although their cakes can range from shrug-worthy (such as the Plantastic Blueberry Chocolate Cake) to wow-worthy (peach cream cake) to basic (confetti cake) and groan-worthy (Baby Shark), we’re always big fans of their matcha brownies – dusted and layered with green tea powder – and their lavender maracons. They also make some nice drinks, including ube and red velvet lattes, matcha and mocha frappes, and coffees.
This is a safe, though generally unspectacular place to buy baked goods. Grab whatever looks appealing, and it will likely be pretty good, if not better.
