Spread out across multiple city-sized blocks in suburban Tustin next to Irvine, The District at Tustin Legacy is an outdoor shopping mall notable for hosting numerous big box retailers alongside entertainment destinations and largely California-based restaurants – chains and indies. In addition to stores ranging from Barnes & Noble and Costco to Lowe’s, Target, and Whole Foods, The District has locations of Planet Fitness, AMC regular and IMAX screens, and physical/video gaming spaces, as well as restaurants such as Chick-Fil-A, Curry Pizza House, Dolce Gelato, In-N-Out, two different hot pot spots, The Yellow Chilli, and Zip Korean BBQ. A spacious food hall never recovered after the pandemic and remains closed, though multiple drink and dessert shops have opened nearby in its wake.
Originally opened in 2007, The District at Tustin Legacy currently hosts a weekly farmer’s market every Sunday morning, a Spirit of Halloween store around the holidays, and occasionally other pop-ups under a colorfully decorated courtyard space adjacent to the AMC theaters. While parking is plentiful, some of the big box retailers (including Lowe’s, Target, and Whole Foods) are in substantially different parts of The District from the theaters.
