Remicone

A South Korean "premium ice cream" brand tailor-made for Instagram

In 2024, Stanton’s Rodeo 39 Public Market replaced its original ice cream shop tenant Fika Fika Creamery with Remicone, the first U.S. location of a South Korean brand promising “premium soft-serve ice cream.” The Rodeo shop closed and relocated to Irvine in November 2025, taking a new place near Zion Market; it remains the chain’s sole U.S. outlet.

“Premium” struck us as a stretch from Remicone’s earliest days. While that might be true compared with Dairy Queen – underscore possibly – it’s not accurate by Orange County’s generally higher standards, as Remicone’s only fancy touches are cosmetic: there’s nothing special about the textures or flavors here.

Seemingly designed more with Instagram in mind than anything else, the soft serve here makes a mostly visual impression. Guests can choose from or mix three flavors – milk, chocolate, or POG ice cream – then select from a bunch of largely familiar toppings.

Made with blue lemon gel and coconut crumble, the Hawaiian Beach was sort of a pina colada-minus, more appealing for the tropical paper umbrella and ocean-colored topping than the ice cream. Other options such as the gray cotton candy-topped Thunder Bomb, Heart Meringue, and mango-sauced, mini-macaron laden Mangocaron are mildly interesting.

At roughly $8-9 each, the desserts struggle to compete on flavor with earlier local Korean ice cream alternatives such as SomiSomi, which combines a wider array of soft serve flavors with compelling taiyaki cones and fillings. But Remicone’s offerings are cute, and if that’s enough for you, give them a try.
