Namaste Plaza

On the border of Irvine and Tustin, an exclusively Indian supermarket at The Market Place

Located at The Market Place on the Irvine/Tustin border, Namaste Plaza is the only Orange County location of an Indian supermarket chain with 15 stores throughout Northern and Southern California. Smaller and more focused than local rivals such as Super Irvine and Wholesome Choice, Namaste Plaza differs in stocking almost exclusively Indian products – packaged snacks, drinks, boxed meals, and ingredients including spices – rather than wider arrays of Middle Eastern and Asian imports. Produce, dairy, and bakery sections are relatively small here, the former two stocked with largely domestically produced fresh items, and the latter with packaged sweets from California-based Indian restaurant/bakery UlavacharU and India/New Jersey-based Daily Delight.

Note that the Irvine store does not have an online presence beyond its Instagram account, and the chain does not maintain a central website for ordering or other information. Namaste Plaza’s San Diego location has its own site with online ordering, a butcher shop, and restaurant-style “Namaste Kitchen” freshly prepared foods not found in Irvine.

Ample parking is available immediately in front of Namaste Plaza, which neighbors Bengong’s Tea and Target. Long-standing Indian restaurant Natraj’s Tandoori, Handel’s Ice Cream, Class 302 Cafe, Sushi Rev, 399 Vietnamese Kitchen, and Yogurtland are just around the corner.
