Mirakuru – The Miracle of Coffee & Tea

Context matters. Garden Grove has no shortage of good-to-great Vietnamese tea and coffee shops, so your likelihood of having a solid experience is fairly high even if you stop at any given plaza and choose one at random. That having been said, you might stumble upon an intriguing Yelp menu only to discover the place – say, Cafe Ngoc – stinks of cigarettes and gambling. In that context, a clean, bright cafe such as Mirakuru feels like an oasis.

Billing itself as “the miracle of coffee and tea,” Mirakuru focuses largely on teas including nine matcha ($6.50 to $8 each) and 10 fruit variants ($6.50 each), plus five coffee choices ($6 to $6.75 each, including Vietnamese coffees), and eight additional milk drinks ($6.75 each). There aren’t any surprises in the bunch, but cream toppings, nice fruits, tea jelly, and coconut milk individually appear in multiple drinks, so if the idea of mixing matcha, thick cream, and/or fruit appeals to you, Mirakuru’s the right place to visit.

A refrigerated display case also contains square tubs of coconut jelly in original ($7) and mango ($8) versions. Adjacent cases contain various cute mini-figurines and lucky cats that appear to be for display only.
