Prominently promoted as the home of the Leo Fender gallery, the Fullerton Museum Center offers a small but wonderful collection of contemporary art and musical instruments crafted in Southern California, as well as a nice gift shop. Three total exhibition spaces range from small to medium and large rooms: The compact James F. Ranii gallery hosts a single artist’s paintings for roughly two-month periods, the mid-sized Fender gallery has one annually revolving exhibit focused on the Fullerton heritage of guitar company Fender, and the balance of the space rotates around three times each year, recently focusing on OC Made, an excellent group exhibition of Orange County artists.
Expect to spend 30 to 45 minutes at the Center, which is notably within walking distance of Fullerton restaurants including Qamaria Coffee and Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students 18 and younger, and free parking is available immediately outside.
