Home to nearly 200 different retailers, restaurants, and kiosks, the Brea Mall is a Simon-operated shopping mall with a mid-tier rather than luxury focus. Originally opened in 1977, it’s aesthetically what you’d expect to see in a 1990s- or 2000s-vintage encyclopedia entry for “mall,” though actively in the process of modernizing. As of 2025, retailers cover the spectrum from Apple Store to Zara, with Macy’s, Nordstrom, Oakley, See’s Candies, Spencer’s, Uniqlo, and Urban Outfitters inbetween, as well as showrooms for Rivian and Tesla. While there’s no movie theater or bowling alley on site, Brea Mall does host Orange County’s first location of Chuck’s Arcade – the smaller “adult” version of Chuck E. Cheese.
Restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, one of the smallest Kura Sushis we’ve seen, La Michoacana, Olive Garden, and The Alley, plus a food court with Bafang Dumpling, Chipotle, Gengis Khan, Lollicup, Sbarro, and others. Notably, Din Tai Fung, Heytea, Kalbi Social Club, North Italia, and Pacific Catch are all in the works for near-future openings. Plenty of free parking around the star-shaped main building is interrupted only by active construction zones for upcoming retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, H&M, Lululemon, and Williams-Sonoma.
