Opened in 2014 as a replacement for the Anaheim-Stadium train station, the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) connects Amtrak and Metrolink train lines with national, county, and city bus lines serving Orange County. Visible from the CA-57 and I-5 freeways, the building resembles a futuristic shell or space ship thanks to a roof structure made from steel and silver plastic, a design that lets sunlight naturally illuminate the building. Glass walls at either end provide access to a commuter parking lot, taxi/rideshare circle, and ground-level train tracks, while clean, modern waiting areas provide seating, access to an Auntie Anne’s and Pinkberry, and ticketing areas.
ARTIC also shows off renderings of OC Vibe, a mixed-use commercial and entertainment area that’s currently under construction next to the center. Once OC Vibe is complete, ARTIC will enable easier access to the Honda Center and Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and help bring 2028 LA Olympics visitors to Anaheim-based sporting events.
