Brea Gallery

Four exhibitions each year focus on California art spanning multiple mediums

Located at Brea’s Civic Center, the Brea Gallery rotates through four major exhibitions of contemporary art each year, focusing on artwork from across California in mediums ranging from pastels and paintings to colored pencils and sculptures. The 6,500-square foot space hosts one exhibition at a time: “Made in California” juried exhibitions often occupy the April to June quarter, while summer 2025 spotlighted Brea’s Art in Public Places projects – largely ceramic, metal, stone, and related sculptures intended for display outdoors across the city, with smaller pieces in the Gallery. A small but very tastefully and amusingly curated gift store is off to the side of the main entrance, while a room with coloring pages for kids is available a back corner.

Admission to Brea Gallery is free for Brea residents and either $2 or $3 for non-residents, with students and seniors paying the lower ticket price; expect to spend around 30 minutes here, or more if you’re particularly enthralled by some of the work. Parking is free in a lot immediately below the Gallery, and limited electric car charging spaces are available. Dining options including The Cheesecake Factory, Fogo de Chao, and Geisha Tempo are several minutes away by car.
