Perrotin – LA

A former LA theater hosts one of this growing international collection of contemporary art galleries

With galleries spanning Los Angeles, New York, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Emmanuel Perrotin exhibits contemporary art from some of the world’s most fascinating creators – in summer 2025 alone, Aya Takano and Jin Meyerson in LA, Daniel Arsham in Seoul, Julian Charrière in Tokyo, Kelly Beeman in Shanghai, and a 12-artist Dubai show including Takashi Murakami, JR, and Sophie Calle. (Collectives MSCHF and Gelitin are also in the Perrotin roster.) The Los Angeles gallery consists of both the former Del Mar Theater and the Perrotin Salon next door, each with compact but naturally lit spaces ideal for single-artist exhibitions. Takano’s brilliant 2025 exhibit, “How Deep How Far Can We Go,” combines paintings and objects with a narrative delivered on the backs of canvases and through a QR code-accessible PDF.

Admission to Perrotin Los Angeles is free, and apart from limited summer hours, the gallery is open six days a week. Exhibitions rotate every month or two, with one or two artists occupying the spaces at any given time. Street parking nearby is ample and inexpensive.
