In 2025, two similarly named but separate art galleries opened at Buena Park’s dining, shopping, and entertainment center The Source: The Gallery Local Artist Project (aka The Gallery LAP) on the first floor, and The Gallery by KARTUS on the second floor. The Gallery LAP offers artists rentable spaces to display their work in a small store selling bags, home decor items, pet products, and customized Wappen Station keychains. Notably, the items for sale have been imported from multiple Asian countries (including Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand), and the art comes from local artists representing a variety of cultures – a contrast with the substantially Korean-focused KARTUS (“K-Art US”) collection.
Over its first six months, The Gallery LAP has featured paintings and photographs by Amelia Noyes, Haejin Kang, Selina Ou, Kyla Kim, Ian Edily Martinez, HyunJung Yi, Sallee, and Tiffany Wei; multiple artists are featured simultaneously, with pop-up events focusing on new additions roughly once per month. To locate the gallery, look for a pink wall on the first floor, then for a bright white space inside large glass windows. Admission and parking are both free.
