Rodeo 39 Public Market brought the excitement and culinary diversity of an upscale food hall to Stanton in 2020, followed by smaller-scale versions in Ontario (the now nearly defunct Rodeo X), and San Juan Capistrano (the super-streamlined Rodeo River Street). In May 2025, Rodeo 72 opened a little north of Orange County in Whittier, and with roughly 15 initial vendors spanning almost as many cultures, it’s the biggest and best Rodeo since the original. Both seating and (free) parking are a little more challenging at Rodeo 72 than at Rodeo 39, but significantly better than at Rodeo River Street.
Rodeo 72’s initial lineup mostly features all-new Rodeo vendors: egg waffle ice cream shop Double 3; breakfast and chicken sandwich slinger Eggbred; solid, authentically Italian Not Just Pizza by Eatalian (half-and-half pizza, shown); fully customizable Vietnamese spring roll, banh mi, and bun noodle bowl maker Paper Rice (shown); Kra-Pow Thai Eatery; Mexican restaurants Las Chelaguas and The Basket Taco (chicken tacos, shown); loaded fries and stroopwafel shop Starcones; and Peruvian restaurant The Inka Spot (ceviche, shown). Familiar Rodeo restaurants include Rodeo 39’s Blue Bowl Superfoods, Karai Handroll Bar, and Hawaiian Shootz, plus two drink spots from Rodeo River Street: Kozan Tea House and Capo. Across two visits, we’ve enjoyed meals at Paper Rice, Kra-Pow, The Inka Spot, NJP, and The Basket Taco; we may well return for another round in the future.
