Small UCI-adjacent boba tea and gelato store loses the gelato and refocuses on beautiful beverages
Located in the University Town Center across the street from UCI, Pink Pig emerged from what used to be Snow Monster, known for cotton candy-topped decorated boba tea and coffee, ice cream, and shaved ice. Upon reopening as Pink Pig, the menu was recalibrated around gelatos and boba tea, using a display case to show off a small but visually striking collection of beautifully swirled gelato flavors. Roughly a year later, the gelatos were pulled from the menu, and today, the focus is solely on drinks.
We’ve enjoyed our drinks across several visits: service tends to be fast, with very fresh-tasting boba, bursting boba, jelly, and brulee options to accompany milk or fruit teas, such as Nutella milk tea, brown sugar pearl swirled milk tea, and peach swirled with a cheese foam “cloud.” That said, it’s been some time since we last stopped in, so we’re planning a revisit in the near future, and hoping it lives up to prior high standards.
