Bardot Coffee Roasters

Tustin's friendly neighborhood coffee and breakfast shop was hidden in a plaza, then closed

Some of Orange County’s plazas include locations that are hard or impossible to see from nearby streets, making businesses challenging to discover randomly. Bardot Coffee Roasters occupied one of those all but anonymous spaces in Tustin, so if you didn’t spot it far across the parking lot from Cream Pan or walk by it when visiting nearby Vietnamese or Japanese restaurants, you might not have known it existed.

That was a shame, because the clean space served as a coffee bar and breakfast shop (including avocado toast and basic pastries) with coffee bean roasting hardware on premises. The photo above of a mint frost cold brew shows just one of the lightly artful, actually delicious drinks we enjoyed here, from baristas who were always friendly and patient as people tried to decide what to order. Across multiple visits, we never saw many people in or around Bardot, but always wished it was more discoverable – or just in a space where we could more easily patronize it.

After six or seven years, Bardot closed in early 2024 and has not reopened.
